In the journey of exploring the universe, Shenzhou-16 executed 70 space science experiments and 8 human factor engineering studies, comprehensively completing the inventory and organization of supplies on the space station in orbit. This not only promotes the transition of China’s manned spaceflight engineering from construction to application but also achieves significant achievements in technological innovation.

Achievements in Technological R&D

The Shenzhou-16 mission focuses on significant advances in space science and applications, especially in the fields of life sciences and new space technologies. Carrying 22 kinds of life science experiment samples and material science experiment samples, totaling about 25 kilograms, signifies China’s capability in conducting large-scale space science research on the space station.

“Space Vegetable Growing” and its Technological Content

The space breeding mission of Shenzhou-16 demonstrates its high-tech “value.” It carried 136 kinds of experiment materials, providing effective support for cultivating high-quality germplasm resources in China. These experiments have yielded over 3,000 space breeding experiments, cultivated more than 240 approved varieties of staple grains, and created direct economic benefits exceeding 360 billion yuan.

As the “heart” of the spacecraft, the power distribution system played a crucial role in ensuring energy supply during the spacecraft’s return journey. By completing the installation verification of over 30 types and hundreds of independent devices, achieving independent control of core components, China Aerospace Science and Technology Group has demonstrated its independent innovation capability in key technologies.
